Central Oklahoma Clean Cities

Our Story

Central Oklahoma Clean Cities (COCC) operates as a specialized intermediary for alternative fuel adoption within the administrative framework of the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG). Under the leadership of Co-Director David Frick, the coalition leverages its position within a Council of Governments to maintain a high degree of trust with public and municipal fleets. This institutional integration allows COCC to move beyond mere advocacy, functioning instead as a technical partner that translates regional energy goals into localized infrastructure and fleet conversions. The coalition focuses on a diverse fuel portfolio, with specific expertise in Electric Vehicles (EV), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), ensuring that the energy transition remains grounded in the practical realities of the South Central region.

Core Capabilities

Like all Clean Transportation Network members, Central Texas Clean Cities offers a core set of capabilities to stakeholders.

  • High-level proficiency in conducting fleet data analysis (AFLEET) and creating long-term transition roadmaps.

  • Experts in organizing "Ride & Drives," webinars, and community listening sessions that demystify new technology for the public.

  • Experienced in serving as a Principal Investigator and subrecipient on federal and state grants.

  • Providing deep-dive support for charging/fueling infrastructure and first responder safety training.

Major Projects & Accomplishments

The COG Advantage

As an entity within the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments, the coalition bridges the gap between regional planning and technical execution. This institutional positioning integrates clean energy goals into broader municipal policies and long-term capital improvement projects.

Public Sector Trust

Deeply embedded within the regional government framework, COCC maintains a high level of trust with municipal stakeholders. This relationship facilitates transparent data exchange and nuanced fleet transition planning tailored to the specific procurement constraints of public entities.

Infrastructure Implementation

The coalition excels in the physical deployment of alternative fuel networks. By managing the technical alignment between utilities, site hosts, and fuel providers, COCC streamlines the installation of EV charging stations and natural gas fueling infrastructure.

Empirical Outreach

COCC prioritizes experiential learning through Ride & Drives and safety training for first responders. This methodology addresses the practical anxieties of fleet operators by providing direct exposure to technology performance and the technical maintenance of advanced fuel systems.
