Emergency Support for Clean Cities & Communities Coalitions
For more than 30 years, Clean Cities & Communities (CC&C) coalitions have played a vital role in advancing clean transportation solutions, reducing emissions, supporting energy resilience, and building stronger local economies across the United States. Our coalitions have led thousands of successful initiatives by leveraging public-private partnerships, grassroots engagement, and providing technical support.
However, administrative delays in contract renewals and cooperative agreements can place these efforts at risk. When this federal funding lapses—even temporarily—coalitions may be forced to pause activities, lose staff, or reduce their capacity to serve communities. These interruptions not only jeopardize ongoing projects but also threaten the long-term impact of the national Clean Cities and Communities program.
One-Time Emergency Funding
The Clean Transportation Network is requesting your support with a one-time, emergency fund to support CC&C coalitions that experience delays in receiving their Department of Energy cooperative agreement contracts. This fund would:
Provide short-term operational support equal to or less than one quarter of a coalition’s typical DOE funding
Ensure continuity in staffing, outreach, project execution, and stakeholder engagement
Prevent setbacks to coalition momentum and maintain programmatic integrity nationwide
A Unique Opportunity for Industry & Stakeholders
This is a one-time call to action for industry leaders, philanthropic partners, and community stakeholders to contribute directly to the resilience and future of Clean Cities & Communities. Your investment today can make an immediate and meaningful impact.
About the CTN: The Clean Transportation Network is a national nonprofit founded by coalitions in the Clean Cities and Communities partnership. As we work to establish our 501c3 status, our fiscal agent is the Louisiana Clean Fuels coalition which will manage emergency funding distribution to coalitions across the US.
