San Joaquin Valley Clean Cities and Communities

Our Story

San Joaquin Valley Clean Cities and Communities (SJVCCC) is a standalone 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving a geographically expansive and socio-economically diverse nine-county region. Designated by the U.S. Department of Energy in 1994, the coalition operates in a territory defined by major oil production and some of the most challenged air quality in the United States. Under the leadership of Director Alley Moyers, SJVCCC bridges the gap between high-level state mandates and the practical implementation needs of underserved, low-income communities. By focusing on equitable infrastructure and workforce development, the coalition addresses the logistical hurdles of the energy transition in both high-density urban centers like Bakersfield and vast rural agricultural corridors.
